How do vendors manage orders?

Confirm -> prepare -> handover to delivery.

Cedar GO Help · Restaurants & Stores

Overview

Vendors manage the middle of every order: confirmation, preparation, and handover. Customers and drivers depend on timely status updates from your panel or app.

How it works

  1. New order notification arrives
  2. Store confirms (required in the live confirmation model)
  3. Prepare, cook, or pack items
  4. Mark ready for delivery or handover when applicable
  5. Delivery partner collects and completes drop-off with the customer

What happens in practice

If an item is unavailable, update or coordinate quickly so the customer is not surprised at the door. Keep packaging labeled for multi-order pickups—drivers may carry up to three concurrent jobs.

Important live rules

  • Rejecting without communication creates cancellations and support load
  • COD cash is collected at customer delivery, not typically at your counter for platform COD flow
  • Refunds may follow if fulfillment fails after acceptance

What to do if something goes wrong

If a driver does not arrive for pickup, contact Cedar GO with the order ID. If a customer disputes items, share what you packed and any chat notes.

Batch prep when several tickets arrive, but still confirm each order individually under the store confirmation model. Label bags with order numbers for drivers carrying up to three jobs. If a driver is late to pickup, message support rather than leaving food unattended at the door.
