How do tips work?

Optional tips with presets, paid with your COD total.

Cedar GO Help · Payments & COD

Overview

Tips let you thank the delivery partner. Tips are enabled on Cedar GO with preset amounts and a configured maximum of 10 (USD).

How it works

During checkout, choose a tip preset (amounts such as 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5 appear among presets) or follow the tip UI up to the maximum. The tip becomes part of the COD total collected at delivery and is for the delivery partner.

What happens in practice

You can tip even when free delivery applies, because tip and delivery fee are different lines. Vendors do not keep tips as product revenue. If you skip tipping, the order still completes normally with OTP and COD for items and delivery.

Important live rules

  • Tips are optional
  • Max tip configuration is 10
  • Delivery-charge commission remains 0%; tips are not vendor commission

What to do if something goes wrong

If you selected a tip by mistake and the order is not yet delivered, ask support whether it can be adjusted. After cash is collected, changes are harder and need operations review.

Changing a tip after the partner is already assigned may not be possible. If you tip generously for bad weather or stairs, that still belongs to the delivery partner under live tip settings. Vendors should not request a share of tip presets.
