Who receives driver tips?

Tips go entirely to the delivery partner.

Cedar GO Help · Payments & COD

Overview

Customer tips are for delivery partners. On Cedar GO, tips are enabled and are separate from the vendor’s 10% product commission and from delivery-charge platform commission (configured at 0%).

How it works

At checkout you can choose tip presets, including amounts such as 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, and up to a maximum of 10 (USD). The tip is included in what you pay on COD and is intended for the delivery partner who completes the drop-off.

What happens in practice

Tipping is optional. It does not replace the delivery fee line. Vendors do not receive tip money as commission. Driver earnings screens show tip and fee information where “show earning” is enabled.

Important live rules

  • dm_tips_status on; max tip configuration 10
  • Delivery-charge commission 0%
  • Admin product commission 10% does not apply to tips

What to do if something goes wrong

If a tip appears on your COD total but you did not select one, screenshot checkout and contact support before or after delivery with the order ID.

Restaurants should not claim tip cash as store income. Drivers should not demand tips beyond what checkout already included. Customers who want to add gratitude should use the tip UI when possible so the amount is recorded with the order rather than argued as informal cash.
